The Dorking Radical Film Festival is the brainchild of a small group of friends who love film and who wanted to share that love with the wider local community. Their aim is, as part of Dorking’s Arts Alive season, to bring you a series of film screenings to stir you up, make you think, warm your heart, or maybe even spur you into action.
The films are chosen for many reasons, entertainment, beautiful cinematography, unique personal view points and experiences and engaging story telling. The festival gives a platform for films that may not have had wide distribution or been shown or given the opportunity of a showing in Dorking. This year for the first time we are excited to be hosting a children’s film screening too!
We wanted to bring more to the film experience by accompanying some of the screenings with speakers relevant to the film content for added enjoyment and in some cases to raise awareness of social and or local issues. In turn we hope that will offer sign posts, make local connections and possibly inspire and enable people to get more involved in issues relevant to the community they live in.
Most of all, we want to provide a unique and enjoyable film experience. We hope you love our film choices as much as we do and we look forward to sharing them with you very soon.
